This week we are traveling to Savannah! Savannah, a coastal Georgia city, is separated from South Carolina by the Savannah River. It’s known for manicured parks, horse-drawn carriages and antebellum architecture. Its historic district is filled with cobblestoned squares and parks such as Forsyth Park shaded by oak trees covered with Spanish moss. At the center of this picturesque district is the landmark, Gothic-Revival Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist. The city itself will be next week! This week I ventured off to Tybee Island and Wormsloe Historic District. I woke up at 4AM and headed to Cockspur Island. Most of the island is within the boundaries of Fort Pulaski National Monument.

Now that we know the day, we need to know the following:

The exact spot from which you'll shoot the photo.

The exact time the Moon will be where you want it to be.

The trickiest part is finding the exact location that has plenty of space and lines up with the object you want to capture with the supermoon.

My recommendation is to check out your potential location a few days before and use the Night AR to see if it roughly lines up. You don’t want to be scrambling the night of.

A former industrial area, the Old Fourth Ward is a trendy hub attracting foodies and shoppers. Hip eateries and indie fashion stores fill Ponce City Market and the Atlanta BeltLine’s Eastside Trail is a converted railway line for walking and cycling.

Located in downtown Atlanta, we have found that the easiest way to grab this iconic location’s photo, is by parking in the lot near Martin Luther King Park and walking over! It is also FREE to park there. The Martin Luther King Historical Park is also an awesome place to check out in Atlanta and we highly recommend visiting it before you get your sunset pic for the gram.
